By the time you read this, the registration period to reserve a place at the annual Utah Scouting Expo will have already begun.
This year, the event will be held throughout the day on Saturday, May 17, starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m., at the South Town Expo Center, 9575 South State Street, in Sandy, Utah. Mark your calendar, because you definitely don’t want to miss what might just be the most important event for scouts of the year!
We know the Scouts, their leaders and parents all look forward to this event. The Utah Scouting Expo is a tremendous opportunity to have fun and earn merit badges. Among all of the awesome activities that will be held during the day, scouts are also invited to participate in some high adventure sports, such as climbing, zipline events and Euro bungee jumping.
Additionally, the Utah Scouting Expo is an important fundraising event that supports the activities Scouts enjoy all year long. Scouts will have the opportunity to sell camp cards to help pay for activities such as summer camps. This is a fundraiser approved in the LDS Scouting Handbook. Scouts may also earn prizes, and sell the cards individually outside of the unit.
But perhaps even more importantly, the youth and leaders attending the Utah Scouting Expo will have the opportunity to participate in an activity that builds and supports our Scouting community.
